Purpose : To evaluate the usefulness of arthroscopic repair using bio-suture anchor for medium sized rotator cuff tear by sports injury and assess the clinical results.
Materials and Methods : Fourteen cases of arthroscopically repaired medium sized tear of rotator cuffs were studied. Between January 2003 to January 2004 we have performed 14 repairs(13 patients) of medium sized FTRCT. The average age was 56(50?62) years old and mean follow?up was 18(12~24) months. We analyzed the statistical results with paired T?test.
Results : Postoperative VAS(Visual analogue system) of pain was improved from 6.9 to 2.0, ADL(Activity of Daily Living) score was improved from 11.4 to 25.0, UCL Ashoulder score system was improved from 14.9 to 32.3 respectively. 86%(12 cases) of the patients showed good to excellent results and 92.9%(13 cases) showed satisfactory results at the final follow?up.
Conclusions : After arthroscopic repair using bio-suture anchor in medium sized rotator cuff tear which are caused by sports activity, pain relief and functional recovery was good to excellent.
